Kutaisi University is Georgia’s leading and top-ranked private university. It was founded in 1991 by Valerian Kelbakiani and Revaz Laghidze as the “Kutaisi Institute of Law and Economics”. In 1992, The institute was renamed Kutaisi University of Law and Economics and finally, its called “Kutaisi University” in 2010. It was the first higher educational university in the western part of Georgia. The university is located in Kutaisi City, the second-largest city in Georgia.
Kutaisi University Georgia UNIK is a reputed & prominent member of the European University Association as an individual associate member since October 29, 2021.
The university has two faculties: The faculty of Social Sciences, Law and Business and the Faculty of Medicine, which currently provide eight higher education programs. The higher education programs are offered in both Georgian and English languages. Gocha Tutberidze is the current rector of the university.
